Over the Easter period, St Davids Wellbeing practitioner Steve Thorp is writer in residence at Oriel y Parc in St Davids. As part of the residency, Steve will be hosting a stunning new exhibition in the Tower Room (designed and illustrated by Ruth Thorp), and he will be leading a range of FREE workshops and talks which can be found on Facebook HERE.
The theme of the programme is transformation and how poetry can contribute to personal and collective change and growth. The programme includes:
- Earth Songs: An evening of eco-poetry with Steve and acclaimed poet and Young Peoples Laureate for Wales, Sophie McKeand on the 30th March – plus ‘open mic’ slots.
- The launch of the fourth issue of Unpsychology Magazine (which Steve edits) on the theme of Climate Minds with readings and conversation, on the 5th April.
- Workshops on writing eco-poetry (28th March) how poetry can help wellbeing and personal transformation (April 7th) and poetry as a force for change (April 12th).
- A closing event on April 14th where people are invited to come and read their own poetry written over the period of the residency.
Steve Thorp will be around Oriel y Parc for the whole period, writing new poetry and leading conversations.
